Congratulations to Keri Barker Plumpton, the first Certified Administrator, Level 1!

It is with great pleasure that we announce this milestone in the new AUUA Certification Program. The years of planning, the travel and the meetings, have come to fruition in this first-of-its-kind ceremony at University Unitarian Church in Seattle. We hope there are many mor!. This presentation took place on February 4, 2007 at University Unitarian Church.

What is Certification?

Continuing education designed specifically for Administrators in Unitarian Universalist Congregations

Who benefits from this program?

The Candidate develops skills and knowledge that are portable and pertinent to many Unitarian Universalist administration jobs. Certified skills and knowledge facilitate the candidate receiving appropriate job placement and compensation.

A Unitarian Universalist Congregationbenefits by more easily finding, hiring, compensating, and developing administrative staff appropriate to the needs of the organization.

The Unitarian Universalist Association of Congregationsbenefits from an increasing number of qualified, specifically Unitarian-Universalism-aware congregation administrators.

An applicant for candidacy in the AUUA Certification Program:

  1. Has worked for one year in a Unitarian Universalist congregation and is a member of the AUUA.
  2. Subscribes to the AUUA Code of Ethics and Mentoring Agreement.
  3. Completes a Life Experience and Education Assessment to determine an entry level.
  4. Submits a personal letter of intent, an application, and an application fee to the AUUA.
  5. Submits letters of recommendation from persons familiar with the applicant’s work.
