Friedrichs was awarded the James Luther Adams Prize for Liberal Theological Studies at Andover Newton, and was the 2007 winner of the UUA's Stewardship Sermon Award. Grand Ballroom B

8:00 – 8:30 AM: breakfast goodies and coffee

8:30 – 9:00 AM: Opening Worship, announcements, etc.

9:00 - Noon:  Morning Session: “Is Your Congregation Vulnerable? Should You Be Worried?”

AUUA board members Debbie Bieber and Mary Ellen Morgan will present this half-day session. Debbie is the Vice-President of Finance and Administration at Meadville Lombard Theological School, and Mary Ellen is the Business Administrator at the UU Church of Berkeley, CA. Previous workshops presented by Debbie and Mary Ellen have been met with much enthusiasm, and as the GA Planning Committee is NOT presenting any administrative workshops at GA this year, this will be your one chance to see this presentation!

Noon – 1:00PM: Lunch (Rev. Richard Nugent, guest)

1:00 – 3:30 PM: Afternoon Session: Appreciative Inquiry and Relational Responsibility.

Rev. Dr Elaine Beth Peresluha is an Accredited Interim Minister with over 15 years of experience with UU congregations. In 2007 her ministries led her to a PhD in Social Construction using the tools of Appreciative Inquiry and Relational Responsibility. The practice of appreciation and right relationship inspires discovery, builds institutional strength, and develops vision in congregations. Our three-hour workshop will focus on the day-to-day practice of appreciation within the administrative offices of UU congregations. You will discover how administrators can support the work and vision of your congregation when confronted by frustrations, exhaustion, and all the imperfections of volunteer organizations. You will learn to reframe the myths of not enough time, not enough money and appreciate the conflicts those beliefs can stimulate. Participants will have fun learning appreciative UU language and responses to their most challenging work situations.

We really hope to see you there!
3:30- 4:00 PM: Closing worship and etc
